FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions you may have about tiling
Porcelain or ceramic?
Porcelain is generally harder wearing and tends to be the better material for floors, especially in areas of high traffic. Ceramic is easier to maintain and doesn’t need sealing as often. However, the choice is yours and we can advise on the best tile for your specific project.
Are bigger tiles better?
Not always. The advantage of bigger tiles is fewer grout lines and less time to lay, however, smaller tiles can have an added wow factor. Your decision may also be steered by the surface the tiles are going onto as walls may not be able to bear the weight of bigger tiles. We can advise on what is suitable for your project.
My grout is mouldy. Why?
This could be down to several factors including hardness of water, ventilation, or even an ingress of water causing surface mould issues. It could also be down to the type of grout used. We always use a high-quality grout which is treated to prevent mould issues. If you have a mould issue we are happy to take a look and advise on what to do.
